Job DescriptionProcurement Heads is delighted to be partnering with a leading luxury leisure brand to hire a Head of Procurement.Reporting to the Finance Director and working closely with the C-suite, the Head of Procurement will be responsible for developing and driving the procurement strategy and activity for both UK and European operations, ensuring the function is helping the organisation to meet its financial and strategic objectives.The Head of Procurement will be hands-on liaising with senior stakeholders both internally and externally to deliver a purposeful, resilient and economically effective supply base fit to meet their expansion plans over the next few years.Upon joining, you’ll be managing a Procurement team of 4 however there is scope to shape and grow the function, with the team size expected to double over the next year.The right candidate for this role will have previous experience in a Head of Procurement capability and be comfortable taking full ownership of Procurement in a large multinational organisation.The role will operate a hybrid-working policy with three days a week on-site in their Hertfordshire office, with some occasional travel to Europe.Key Responsibilities of the Head of Procurement role:Management of the Procurement function across: Strategy setting, Service delivery, Continuous improvement, Recruitment, development and performance management of people, Leading the transformation of the current function to become a respected, value-driving department that is integrated into operational deliveryManage the effective delivery of the full procurement lifecycle, covering: Category Planning, Sourcing, Supplier and Contract ManagementManage the effective delivery of supply chain activity: Assessing new suppliers regarding financial stability, conducting fit for purpose and supplier accreditations checks, Regularly updating preferred supplier lists to ensure consistent quality and reliable supply chain operations as well as monitoring the accuracy and use of preferred suppliers and products, Overseeing adherence to commercial governance processes e.g. contract reviews to ensure supplier adherence to standard contract T&Cs, Commercial contract management of live contracts to monitor RPI increases, claiming of rebates, variations, and any other relevant commercial aspectsLine management responsibility for the Procurement team: Setting objectives, Conducting performance reviews, Acting as a point of escalation, Develop planning and support, Implementation and promotion of best practices in procurement and supply chain, Scope 3 Emissions reportingPerformance measurement and management: Set and track key performance indicators for the Procurement function, Put in place improvement plans where improvement opportunities are identified, Build strong, advisory relationships with key stakeholders across the company and ensure that Procurement partners with them to deliver their plansKey Competencies for the Head of Procurement role:Leadership: Ability to develop and communicate a Procurement strategy. Strong influencing skills and ability to lead a team with varied backgrounds and skill sets.Procurement and Supply Chain Transformation/Development: Experience of implementing new processes and ways of working within a large or complex organizationProject Management: Experience in successfully leading teams to deliver complex projects and understanding of relevant project management methodologiesPlanning and Organizational Skills: Ability to take a long-term view and build the capability of a complex organization, and to combine this with the management of day-to-day decisions required to meet the organisation’s needsCommunication: Excellent skills in developing and delivering verbal and written communicationsAbility to “sell” Procurement’s value and to run procurement as a service like any other well-run professional services businessTeam player at the executive level and able to collaborate with business units and functional partners including IT, Finance, HR, Marketing, LegalExpertise and Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of procurement and supply chain processes, tools and best practicesBenefits of the Head of Procurement role:Up to £100,000 salary40% bonusPrivate medical coverCompany perks (£2500+ in value)
