Sports Coach/Aspiring PE Teacher The Youth Education Service are working in partnership with an Alternative Provision who are recruiting multiple Sports Coaches to lead Sports sessions and other lessons within the school. The school are seeking to appoint dedicated and hardworking coaches and are able to offer Teacher training for those who are keen to pursue a career as a PE Teacher. They are located in Liverpool with good access to the city centre and local train stations. The academy hosts excellent facilities and a broad curriculum. a wealth of additional space and facilities to expand and broaden the curriculum offer to include science teaching in a specialist lab, an IT suite, a gymnasium, specialist Food Technology and Art and Design rooms, a family dining area, as well as dedicated therapy rooms. Key Benefits • 10 week Temp to Perm offer through The Youth Education Service before moving onto a permanent contract which gives you the opportunity to get a full understanding of the school before committing to a permanent contract immediately (but also means you would be salaried before December therefore paid over the Christmas period). • Flexible working opportunities • Exceptional CPD offer • Generous benefits package • Access to BUPA Employee Assistance Programme •Ability to undertake Teacher Training/progress career in Sports Coaching The successful candidate will: • Lead multi sport sessions to small classes of children age 11-16 • Promote pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion • Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning, and experience a sense of achievement You must have: • GCSE or equivalent level, including at least a Grade 4 (previously Grade C) in English and maths or willingness to obtain • Experience working in a coaching environment or other educational setting • Experience supporting children / young people • Experience planning and delivering Sport sessions • Good literacy and numeracy skills • Good organisational skills • Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils and adults • Skills and expertise in understanding the needs of all pupils • Knowledge of how to help adapt and deliver support to meet individual needs • Excellent verbal communication skills • Active listening skills • The ability to remain calm in stressful situations • Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children The Youth Education Service (TYES) is committed to diversity and inclusion.
