Teaching Assistant role in an exciting SEN school Teaching Assistant for Severe Learning Difficulties Bexley Location Full Time Role - Monday - Friday 8:30AM-4.00pm Small, Primary classes (KS1-2) On The Job Training Friendly well run school In class support The Teaching Assistant Job We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant to work with young primary aged students with severe learning difficulties in Bexley.You will provide one-on-one support, helping students engage with their learning and develop independence, literacy and mathematics skills. The School Based in Bexley, this fantastic SEN school is a friendly and well respected in the local community with 85 students across the school ages 4-19 Pupils from Bexley and across surrounding areas who attend this school are offered a broad and balanced curriculum, that is tailored around an extensive knowledge of their learning difficulties and tailored to them. Support and training offered every week to further develop your knowledge and skills as teaching assistant for children with varied needs. You will be working with skilled Teachers and Teaching Assistant's in a classroom environment The Teaching Assistant Responsibilities Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils Promote pupil's independence, self-esteem and social inclusion Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement Support with planning, preparation and resourcing for lessons Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school's policy and procedures Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment Support with personal care when needed with other staff members The Teaching Assistant Applicant The ideal Teaching Assistant applicant will be have the following qualities: Enjoyment of working with young people Will have experience working with students with special needs Sensitivity and understanding, to help build good relationships with pupils A commitment to getting the best outcomes for all pupils Commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times Commitment to safeguarding pupil's well-being and equality Honest, hardworking, transparent with a willingness to learn and develop Good organisational skills Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils and adults The ability to remain calm in stressful situationsReeson Education: REESON Education is London's Premier Recruitment Agency.
