Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire Salary: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour (Actual salary: £19,370.70 - £21,122.66, depending on experience) Hours: 37 hours per week - Term Time Only Are you passionate about helping young people with special educational needs thrive? We are looking for dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team, supporting students aged 11-19 with a range of complex needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and communication difficulties. Your Responsibilities: Support Learning and Development: Work alongside teachers to create an encouraging and engaging learning environment for students. Tailored Assistance: Provide one-to-one or small group support, focusing on the individual sensory and communication needs of each student. Build Positive Relationships: Form trusting and supportive connections with students, ensuring they feel safe and included. Promote Positive Behaviour: Use creative strategies to encourage positive behaviour, adapting your approach to meet each student's needs. Assist with Personal Care: Offer personal care when required, maintaining the dignity and respect of each student. What We're Looking For: Experience working with SEN students (paid or voluntary). A Level 2 or higher qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (preferred but not essential). GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) - essential. A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. A flexible and creative approach to supporting individual learning needs.
