Mobile Engineer Plumber Multi Skilled Location: Yorkshire Hours of work: 41.25 Contract Type: Permanent The Plumber and Multi-Skilled Fabric Engineer will play a pivotal role in supporting ISS’s mission to be the world’s leading service organisation by ensuring exceptional service delivery for client properties. Job Description In this role, you will perform plumbing and building services engineering maintenance, with responsibilities including fault-finding, repairs, maintenance, and installations across a range of facilities. This position involves both planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive maintenance across multiple locations, including government, banking, educational, and healthcare sites. As a highly adaptable and skilled professional, you’ll bring versatility and technical expertise to ensure each facility is maintained to world-class standards. Key Responsibilities * Conduct scheduled inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, adjustments, testing, and troubleshooting for plumbing systems per codes, diagrams, and manuals * Repair cracked pipes and clear clogged drains, using ladders, scaffolding, or lifts as needed * Observe plumbing systems to detect issues, dismantle devices, remove defective parts, inspect used parts for calibration and compliance, and test systems with precision instruments * Maintain complex plumbing setups including washers, steam cleaners, air compressors, hydraulic lifts, water/drainage systems, and sprinklers * Perform maintenance inspections and leak tests, solder or braze pipes, install and repair joints and components for systems like heaters, tanks, and sinks in line with specifications * Install, modify, and repair plumbing systems, including mainline connections, setting routes, installing hangers, leveling pipes, and adding valves, traps, and unions as required * Test and maintain backflow prevention devices according to local codes * Read and interpret blueprints and plans to route and position plumbing systems, marking installation points in walls and floors * Lay out work assignments, choosing effective methods, techniques, and materials to complete tasks efficiently Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications * Level 3 Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician qualification * G3 Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems certification * Extensive experience in mechanical building services maintenance, including fault finding, maintenance, installation, and inspection/testing * Strong experience in reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) * Background in facilities management or building services within commercial properties * Knowledge of Health & Safety protocols, including risk assessments and method statements * Training and competence in managing high-risk mechanical works * Problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess situations and develop effective plans * Strong communication and collaborative skills The Company ISS is a world-leading workplace and facility management company, connecting people and places to make the world work better.
