Position: Buildings Buyer (Temporary to Permanent) Business Area: Supply Chain & Purchasing Management Location: Watford Hours: 37.5 per week Hourly Rate: £20-£21 per hour (equivalent salary circa £40,000) Our client, a leading Tier 1 contractor, is seeking a skilled Buildings Buyer to join their team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This role is essential for ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services for building projects across the company’s portfolio. Team/Department Activities: As a Buildings Buyer, you will support procurement activities across multiple divisions, ensuring that each building project has the necessary materials and resources to meet the highest industry standards. Role Purpose and Responsibilities: * Assist the Procurement Manager and supply chain team in sourcing and purchasing building materials. * Handle day-to-day procurement transactions, ensuring the efficient delivery of goods and services. * Take responsibility for managing procurement frameworks, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Formal Qualifications: * Ideally MCIPS or working towards it. * Strong proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel. * Experience with COINs and SAP is preferred. Skills Required: * Proficiency in COINs, SAP, and Excel. * Extensive experience in procurement, ideally within a Tier 1 construction company. * Solid understanding of the construction, civil engineering, and building industry. Personal Qualities: * MCIPS qualification is preferred. * Strong negotiation and communication skills. * Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Why Join?
