Job Title - Oil Operator

Location - London

Responsibilities

• Maintain and regularly update the filing system and records for all crude physical operations, ensuring that tasks can be easily handed over to team members at short notice.
• Review purchase contracts and provide comments to the contract analyst.
• Review sale contracts, negotiate contract terms with buyers, and handle counter offers.
• Nominate vessels for approval by suppliers and buyers, send documentation instructions, appoint inspection companies, arrange insurance as needed, and secure invoices before finalizing price calculations with suppliers.
• Coordinate closely with the Trading, Shipping, Trade Finance, Cargo Control, and Demurrage Claims teams, as well as with the Group Finance Department on financial matters.
• Optimize costs related to vessel berthing operations to maximize profitability on the Profit and Loss (P&L) statement (NOR cargo).
• Follow up on outstanding receivables related to cargoes.
• Monitor vessel movements, identify quantity loss or quality issues, and assist Cargo Control in filing claims against suppliers or owners.
• Track B/L (Bill of Lading) dates and quantities for all hedged cargoes, informing physical and OTC traders of any changes.
• Promptly and accurately update data in the trading system (ERP).
• Adhere to operational procedures and meet all required deadlines.
• Issue invoices for costs related to physical cargoes, send them to third parties, complete Invoicing Notices, and submit receivable documents to UK Treasury, following up with counterparties for payment as necessary.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the company based on business needs.

Qualifications:

• Educated to degree level or degree level qualification
• Eligibility to work in the UK

• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
• Excellent written, spoken communication skills
