Health & Safety Advisor

Health & Safety Advisor – Bury - £32k - £35k per annum plus company benefits Our client is a well established and successful food production company based in the Bury area; due to their continued success they are expanding their team and recruiting for an experience Health & Safety Advisor to join their existing team. Main responsibilities of the role include: * Drive a health & safety culture within the working environment * Develop, implement and monitor the Environmental and Safety Management System, procedures, documentation and audit system. * Responsible for undertaking EH&S compliance evaluations inspections and audits in line with requirements, co-ordinate outputs and liaise with site management to ensure actions are completed. * Identify risks and carry out appropriate risk assessments in all areas. * Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. * Develop and train a team of H&S reps, meeting regularly with them to monitor progression. * Monitor and investigate accidents/near misses and review statistics to establish underlying causes. * Monitor, review and develop the Health & Safety and Environmental policy. * Carry out EH&S inductions with all new starters and contractors. . The successful candidate should possess the following skills / qualifications / experience: * IOSH managing safely * Health & Safety Management experience * Environmental compliance experience * NEBOSH general certificate * Up to date first aid certificate (essential) * Knowledge of Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work completion * Experience in the Health & Safety supervision of site activities * Computer literate * Excellent attention to detail * Good written and verbal communication skills Benefits include: free parking, company events, employee discounts, health and wellbeing programme and ongoing career progression.
