Modern Workplace Lead, Hands-on, Management, E3, E5, AVD, AutomationA leading provider of financial solutions is seeking a proven, hands-on, modern workplace lead who can help guide, support, and roll up their sleeves when required. The role:Working as part of the Modern Workplace Technology function, the Modern Workplace Lead is responsible for vision, strategy, engineering, and operational support for the organisation's Virtual Desktop & Virtual Application capabilities.Focus on your team to ensure they have the appropriate training in our methodologies and understand their role in the organisation.Coach and mentor others throughout the organisation, taking responsibility for one's own and others' development and actively seeking and providing feedback.Develop and deliver a plan for a specific area of responsibility by managing others.Set objectives and take responsibility for implementing team performance management systems with guidance from senior colleagues. Skills required:Managing the development, delivery & continual improvement of the Azure Virtual Desktop personal & multi-session products.Ensuring the Azure Virtual Desktop offerings meet the experience, performance, security, and scalability needs of the organisationChampioning a DevOps/SRE approach, engineering products & driving an automation-first agenda, embracing Infrastructure as code principles to achieve consistent deliveryContributes to defining roadmaps and strategies for technologies, tools, and architecturesManages definition, prioritisation & delivery of the Virtualization product backlog.Work with stakeholders, including Modern Workplace Product Owners & Business lines, to ensure technologies align with our IT and Business strategies.Ensures the delivery organization is properly resourced with appropriate planning for growth and all the delivery teams have been trained in appropriate methodologies and understand their roleExtensive Experience in Infrastructure Engineering & Operations of M365, Device Management, & Virtualisation Technology, including Azure Virtual Desktops & Azure InfrastructureA good understanding of Infrastructure Automation, including Terraform, Infrastructure as code, and configuration as code.Passionate about customer experience and outcomes driven by technologyExcellent communication and collaboration skills.Nice skills to have:A good understanding of Security & Compliance requirements in regulated environmentsExperience in Architecture Design notes and GovernancePowerShell scripting for Azure administration and automation.Experience with Bicep (or ARM templates) for defining and deploying Azure resources.Strong understanding of networking, Active Directory, and Group Policy.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.This position can be based out of Leeds, London or Edinburgh.
