Risk Actuary

Our client is a Lloyd's start up managing agency. Having hired their c-suite team, they are looking to recruit an actuarial professional to lead risk work, reporting to the CRO. The role will be all-round role where you will be expected to deliver yourself (ie we are looking for a "doer" and not a delegator). The role will include: -Deriving risk appetite & tolerances for managed syndicates and managing agency -Production of key documentation to support risk management objectives, to include strategy document, policies and risk register -Assist with governance of capital model -Application and oversight of risk mitigation strategies -Reporting on risk matters, including initial build-out, monitoring against appetite, production of ORSA report, capital adequacy assessment, emerging risks and risk events -Regulatory reporting including ORSA -Regular review of risk framework to verify best practice is being employed As the business is a start up, a great variety is to be expected. Medium term, as the business is expected to grow, your team is likely to grow too. Our client is open to a variety of qualifications but a Fellow or Associate of the IFOA would be ideal, and those who have paused the exams are welcome to apply too. Please note that Lloyd's experience is essential, either in a consulting capacity or as an in-house actuary.
