Join Cowes is one of the world's premier international sailing destinations and hosts a range of events throughout the year including the renowned Cowes Week Regatta. At its spiritual heart is Cowes Yacht Haven (CYH), a marina, boatyard and events centre that facilitates much of the sailing and related events in and around Cowes. CYH is operated as a facility for local boat owners as well as an international venue for visiting yachts participating in some of the world's most prestigious sailing events. CYH is owned (98%) by Cowes Town Waterfront Trust (CTWT), a charity that enables CYH to operate as a world-class sailing venue and to offer support to those who want to further their sailing experience, particularly those facing hardships. In addition, the trust owns and manages a property portfolio within the town.Following a retirement, CTWT is seeking a new trustee to join its experienced and enthusiastic board. This would suit a member of the local Isle of Wight community and, in particular, one with experience in financial management.The board meets eight times a year and one third retires by rotation at the AGM and can be re-elected if eligible. This is a voluntary position for which there is no remuneration.CTWT is a registered charity and is operated as a company limited by guarantee. The board is responsible for managing the property portfolio as well as planning future strategy and policies of CYH and CTWT.
