The HR Manager will be a key driving force in our team, playing a crucial role in shaping the culture of our organisation. In this dynamic standalone position, you will lead both strategically and operationally, taking ownership of core HR functions. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the entire employee life cycle, skilfully managing complex ER cases, maintaining and updating our HR policies, and ensuring compliance with UK employment law. You will also ensure the smooth administration of our payroll cycles. Join us and be part of an exciting journey where your contributions will shape our success.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESHR Strategy & Leadership:Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company’s objectives and growth plans.Provide expert guidance to senior management on HR-related matters.Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that reflects our brand values.Implement organisational changes; conduct consultation meetings and carry out the change process from end-to-end.Senior Management Team (SMT) responsibilities: attend the weekly SMT meeting and be involved in key business decision making, along with other Heads of Departments and the CEO.Recruitment & Onboarding:Manage the entire recruitment process; create Job Descriptions, advertise, screen applications, conduct interviews, send job offers and contracts.Oversee the new starter induction process to ensure new employees are integrated smoothly and effectively.Employee Relations:Act as the first point of contact for employee relations issues, providing advice and support to Senior Leaders, Managers and Employees.Mediate and resolve conflicts, ensuring fair and consistent treatment of all staff.Employee Engagement:Lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement and company culture.Gather feedback through the company’s suggestion box, employee satisfaction surveys and exit interviews.Create and manage employee recognition programs that celebrate achievements, milestones, and contributions, enhancing overall job satisfaction and team morale.Organise and coordinate team-building events and activities.Performance Management, Training and Development:Manage and implement the company’s performance review process.Work with managers to identify performance gaps and implement improvement plans.Identify training needs across the organisation; source training providers to address skill gaps.Support career development and succession planning initiatives.Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.Compliance & HR Policies:Ensure compliance with all UK employment laws and regulations.Management of the Staff Handbook.Develop, update, and implement HR policies and procedures.Liaise with external employment legal teams when required.Payroll:Responsible for the processing of Monthly and Fortnightly payroll cycles; sending accurate payroll data to the external payroll company.Reviewing of payroll reports and obtaining necessary approvals for payroll processing.Assist the finance team with the year-end auditing process and responding to all payroll related audit queries. Ensuring the pensions auto-enrolment process is adhered to.Administration and Reporting:Drafting of all HR and employment related letters and contracts of employment.Drafting all organisational announcements.Create monthly reports containing comprehensive HR data for members of the Board and the Senior Management Team.Benefits Administration for all employee benefits including Private Medical Insurance, Pensions, administering staff complimentary tickets, Perkbox and all other benefits.‘Super User’ for the HR System, IRIS Cascade HR.Manage employee records, ensuring they are maintained accurately and confidentially.Supporting the wider Administration Team and covering for the Executive Assistant to CEO when required.Please note that the responsibilities and duties outlined in this job description are intended to provide a general overview of the role. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE CIPD qualification or equivalent HR certification is preferred.Proven experience as an HR Manager in a standalone role, ideally within the hospitality, entertainment, or tourism sectors.Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HR strategies.High ethical standards, with the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.High ethical standards, with the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrityExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.High emotional intelligence with a passion for people management.Skilled in all Microsoft Office programmes with a strong understanding of intermediate Excel formulas.Experience in handling complex employee relations issues with sensitivity.Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.A commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations with composure.Strong time management skills, ensuring deadlines are met and HR and payroll processes are executed efficiently.Experience in administering payroll systems and managing employee benefits.
