Health & Safety Manager

A design and manufacture company based near Maldon are looking for a Health, Safety, Quality, Environmental (HSQE) and Wellbeing Manager to join their team on a part time basis. Candidates will need to have previous experience in this field and a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.

Duties

• Maintain HSQE policies and procedures in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Oversee quality and environmental management systems, ensuring compliance with ISO standards (9001, 14001).
• Assist in carrying out Achilles audits.
• Assist in onboarding new team members.
• Engage with regulatory bodies.
• Maintain Fleet Operation Recognition Scheme
• Promote a positive HSQE culture
• Ensure company is up to date on legislative changes and best practices.

Skills & Experience

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent in Health and Safety.
• Membership of IOSH at Certified level (Cert IOSH).
• Experience in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of HSQE legislation
• Experience managing ISO systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience in conducting internal and external audits. (Lead Auditor Trained)
• Knowledge of sustainability, environmental, social and governance issues.
• Instructional qualification in Health and Safety-related training.
