Regional Surveyor - Kent - Faversham

We have a unique opportunity for a passionate and ambitious surveyor to help in maintaining and developing a regional portfolio of c100 pubs across our heartland estate in Kent.

In this unique role, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and continued enhancement of our distinctive and diverse Kent pub portfolio where our customers can build their own memories.

Reporting to the Head of Facilities and Development, you will work with our team of Surveyors (4 including you) and CAFM support professionals as well as work closely with our Operations, Tied Trade and Finance Teams to provide our Tenants with the highest level of support for their unique architecture.

As a Regional Surveyor, you will guide each business through its property maintenance, compliance and development strategy to ensure schedules are followed, quality expectations are met, risks are identified, and quick resolutions are provided to maintain a safe environment for all through best practice and service delivery.

  • Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week. 08:30 - 17:00, Monday to Friday with 1 hour lunch (unpaid).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure our varied portfolio of properties are compliant, well maintained and fit for purpose by having a detailed understanding of the buildings and assets across your regional estate
  • Provide specialist advice and effective resolution management in relation to a wide range of property repairs, maintenance, sustainability and efficiency
  • Prepare scheme designs and detailed schedules for the delivery of planned refurbishment and capital projects circa
  • Provide support to our project team for larger and other selected investments
  • Manage monthly repair and maintenance budgets and develop our wider planned works programme
  • Monitor and manage contractor Service level agreements and proactively support the team in ensuring our supply chain provides the best service to our pubs and hotels
  • Co-ordinate regular review meetings with our Tenants and Business Development Managers to ensure that maintenance, dilapidation, and compliance works are completed within agreed timescales and to the highest quality
  • Conduct routine Schedule of Condition and Dilapidation surveys as required and consult with our Tenants and Business Development Managers regarding appropriate resolutions
  • Ensure that all works are carried out to the highest Quality and Health and Safety standards in accordance with our policies and work pro-actively with our Health and Safety Team to continually promote a safe working culture across all areas
  • Provide support for "out of hours" emergencies at weekends and evenings where necessary
  • Maintain key data and records for each property on our central file and programme management systems
  • Conduct any other such duties that may be requested by the company
  • Prepare regular reports and updates for your areas of responsibility and bring to the attention any areas of concern to the appropriate line manager or Director

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Property based degree qualification or equivalent with demonstrable experience in a similar role
  • RICS /CIOB qualified or similar, working towards or with aspiration to become qualified
  • Observant and proficient in identifying, rectifying and escalating hazards promptly
  • Passion for promoting and supporting a best-practise culture with the confidence to take ownership of key initiatives
  • Conscientious professional with a strong commitment to quality
  • Friendly and approachable with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, contractors and consultants, both written and verbal
  • Diligent with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel & Outlook) and data analytical skills
  • Organised to effectively prioritise tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Listed Building, Conservation and Planning laws together with industry specific legislation such as Licensing and Fire Safety.
  • Knowledge of relevant construction and landlord safety legislation, with experience of instructing and managing complex workloads.
  • Full UK driver's License required
