HR Reward Advisor

£45,000 - £55,000 per annum

Permanent / Full-Time

London (Hybrid Working)


Burman are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Reward Advisor to join our public sector organisation based in London. You will play a key role in developing and implementing reward strategies that align with our organisational goals, while ensuring that our benefits offering is competitive and attractive to both current and prospective employees.


The HR Reward Advisor will provide specialist advice on compensation, benefits, and recognition programs, working closely with key stakeholders across the organisation to ensure the effective management of reward schemes. This role will also be pivotal in reviewing and enhancing existing reward frameworks, while ensuring they are fair, inclusive, and compliant with public sector regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Reward Strategy: Assist in the development, review, and implementation of the organisation’s reward strategy, ensuring it is competitive, equitable, and aligned with market trends.
  • Benefits Management: Manage the full range of employee benefits, including pensions, health, wellbeing programs, and flexible working options, ensuring they meet the needs of employees and remain within budget.
  • Salary Benchmarking: Conduct salary benchmarking exercises to ensure pay scales remain competitive and compliant with public sector pay frameworks, and advise on any necessary adjustments.
  • Job Evaluation: Support the job evaluation process, ensuring roles are correctly graded, and provide advice on job classifications and salary bands.
  • Policy Development: Develop, review, and maintain reward and benefits policies, ensuring they reflect best practice and comply with relevant public sector legislation and guidelines.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse and report on compensation data, benefits uptake, and trends to provide insights and recommendations to senior management for improvements and cost efficiencies.
  • Communication: Ensure that all employees are well informed about their reward and benefits packages, and that communications are clear, accessible, and effective.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively with HR teams, finance departments, and external benefits providers to deliver efficient reward and benefits solutions.
