We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Conservation Manager to join a prestigious specialist restoration and conservation contractor based in London. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, including Grade I and II listed buildings, historic theatres, high-end residential properties, luxury retail spaces, churches, and government buildings. About the Role: As a Conservation Manager, you will play a key role in managing conservation and restoration projects from inception to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of craftsmanship and adherence to heritage conservation principles. Working closely with architects, conservation officers, skilled craftspeople, and other clients, you will oversee the execution of works to ensure that all projects meet both aesthetic and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: * Manage and lead multiple conservation and restoration projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and to the highest quality standards. * Coordinate with project teams, including architects, conservation officers, craftspeople, and subcontractors, to ensure compliance with conservation guidelines and statutory requirements. * Develop and implement conservation strategies, methods, and materials suitable for the restoration of historic structures. * Prepare project documentation, including condition reports, conservation plans, and risk assessments. * Liaise with clients, providing expert advice on conservation best practices and project progress. * Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality, progress, and adherence to health and safety standards. * Identify and resolve any project issues that may arise, ensuring minimal impact on timelines and budgets. Skills and Experience Required: * Proven experience in managing conservation and restoration projects, preferably with listed buildings and heritage sites. * Strong understanding of traditional construction techniques, materials, and conservation principles. * Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices in heritage conservation. * Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously. * Strong communication and leadership skills, with a focus on collaboration and stakeholder management. * Relevant qualifications in conservation, heritage management, construction management, or a related field are desirable.
