About you
Are you an enthusiastic and creative Tutor who thrives on working in a challenging yet rewarding environment, inspiring young people to learn? Do you have experience working with KS3 and KS4 pupils? Can you easily nurture relationships with pupils and provide a platform to learn and succeed?

About the role
As an LMP Action Alternative Provision Tutor, you need a can-do attitude, excellent communication skills, and a nurturing approach. You will easily engage with young people, support them to use listening skills, reflective thinking and encourage a positive outlook towards learning. Experience working in a SEND setting, particularly with ADHD and ASD students would be an advantage, as well as experience in restorative practice. You will develop activities and resources to meet the needs of students, consulting with the school leads to setting targets and reporting on progress and behaviours. Supporting students' resilience, social, emotional, mental health and wellbeing is a key part of this role. Flexibility is essential for this role as no two days are the same. You will be joining a committed team that makes a real difference in the lives of young people.

Location - Hounslow

Role and responsibilities

  • Plan and lead the delivery of sessions through activities that support student development across core subjects using restorative practice.
  • Manage students, reporting any incidents to be completed on the same day and sent to your line manager.
  • Assess the work of the students and give feedback to encourage them.
  • Ensure sessions are engaging, creative and in line with our quality assurance.
  • Assist where necessary to support by offering 1-to-1 support.
  • Support the participation, retention, and progression of students.
  • Work closely with other staff members.
  • Attend staff meetings and complete mandatory training and CPD as required.
  • Maintain effective communication with staff, parents, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Be familiar with the LMP Code of Conduct and all operational, Health & Safety, Child Protection and Data Protection policies.
  • Ensure the safeguarding and protection of children in your care by adhering to all relevant policies and procedures, maintaining a vigilant and proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential risks, and promoting a safe and supportive environment for all students.

  • Teaching / Training qualifications
  • Mentoring and Coaching Qualifications (desirable)
  • SEND Experience
  • DBS (Essential)
  • Working with young people aged 11-16
  • Training and working in diverse community settings.

What is in it for you (remuneration & benefits)

  • £100-£130 per session
  • 5 days per week 6 hours per day (term-time)
  • Paid Holiday (accrued and paid at end of fixed term period)
