Teaching Assistant - Derby

Do you have experience in supporting children? Are you available for work in November 2024? Empowering Learning are working alongside a school in the DE3 area who are looking to appoint a teaching assistant on a long term basis. The duties within the role will be: Providing academic support to children working below age expected levels Working on a 1:1 basis with pupils struggling to engage in lessons Assisting the class teacher with the preparation of lessons Liaising with the class teacher around progress of the pupils Using the school's reward system to help engage children The school are looking for someone who: Has previously worked with children in some capacity for a minimum of 6 months Has a teaching assistant qualification or relevant degree Can build relationships with children Can think outside the box and be a good problem solver Is able to differentiate their approach to supporting a variety of children The finer details of the role are as follows: Working hours would be 8:30-3:45 Working across different classes in KS2 Temporary contract until July 2025 with the potential of moving permanent for the right personTo apply for this role, please send across your CV via the application page.
