ROLE- Furniture Designer

LOCATION- Salisbury

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £28,000 - £40,000, dependent on experience

My client is a specialist product designer and manufacturer. They are looking for a Furniture Designer to join their team in Salisbury on a permanent basis.

The Furniture Designer will ideally have the following attributes:

• At least 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Interested in developing a career in Furniture / Product Design
• Degree qualified in Product Design, Industrial Design or similar
• Previous work experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment would be beneficial
• Be proficient using 2D and 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite etc.
• Experienced working with metal, wood and extruded materials
• Hands-on technical experience through your course
• Able to work to specific requirements and deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail
• Organised with excellent communication and teamwork skills

The Furniture Designer role will involve:

• Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
• Producing fabrication drawings to bespoke requirements
• Communicating directly with clients to determine requirements
• Liaising with manufacturing providers
• Being involved in final assembly of products
• Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
• Updating 3D models and drawings
• Checking drawings for sign off
• Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
