ROLE PROFILE:
Responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. Manage the costs on construction projects and help to ensure that the construction projects are completed within its projected budgets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
* Carry out feasibility studies to estimate materials, time and labour costs
* Negotiate and draw up bids for tenders and contracts
* Monitor each stage of construction to make sure that costs are in line with forecasts
* Provide financial progress reports to clients
* Advise clients on legal and contractual matters
* Act on clients' behalf to resolve disputes
* Assess the financial costs of new environmental guidelines, such as using sustainable timber.
* Keep records, prepare work schedules and write report with the use of computer software.
* Assess, review and mitigate commercial risks and implement Reach Active policies on risk management.
* Complete monthly KPI reports
* Produce supplier purchasing reports
* Support the authorisation and submission of project variations.
* Authorise the placement of contracts, subcontracts, material and plant orders.
* Maximise cash flow through the control, measurement (including quality) and valuation of work and the invoicing of customers and payment of suppliers.
* Be aware of and promote Reach Active Limited Health and Safety policies and risk management.
* Promote Reach Active Limited values towards its customers to meet and exceed their expectations.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: ESSENTIAL:
* Extensive experience in Quantity Surveying
* Ability to work independently with strong interpersonal and organisational skills
* Experience working within the drainage, utility, multi-utility infrastructure industry
* A good mix of experience with pre and post contract work
* NEC and JCT contract experience.
* Must have good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear reports in order to convey complex information in a simple way to a diverse range of people
* Must be numerical and have data analysis skills
* IT skills and the ability to learn sophisticated design and costing IT packages
* Ability to influence people at all levels of the organisation
* Ability to challenge information presented
* Ability to multi-task changing priorities
QUALIFICATIONS:
* A degree or similar qualification in Quantity Surveying

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The role may require you to travel to sites across the London and the South East and throughout the UK with occasional overnight stays, as and when required. Due to the nature of our works, there may be a requirement to cover out of hours works i.e., weekends and on some occasion’s nights. Within reason, you must be willing to cover out of hours works, where necessary
