Production Manager Location: Wimbledon, London SW19 Salary: circa £45,000 Hours: 40 We have an immediate requirement for an experienced Food Production Manager, to ensure that the day to day running of production meets the required operational, customer, and food safety standards. Visible to all production operatives, you will be responsible for managing a large team of production workers ensuring that the production functions smoothly with efficient communication between departments. This includes ensuring finished goods are manufactured to specification and cost, and that goods are produced on time and in full. This role operates on a 2 week rolling rota, covering the AM shift (06:30 to 15:00) week one and the PM shift (15:00 to 23:30) week two, on a 5 over 7 shift pattern (40 hours per week) Accountabilities Include: Ensure the effective and consistent management of the day-to-day operation. Effective liaison across multiple departments / sections including Procurement, Sales, Technical, NPD and Supply Chain. Ensuring Operational costs and efficiencies are met as set out by the business. Ensure daily operational updates are communicated in a structured, constructive and consistent fashion. Analyse raw material (fresh produce), work in progress and finished goods production data to identify and resolve any production issues, focus on making the business cost effective by reducing waste. Setting objectives and operational KPI's for the production. Implement Continuous Improvement processes across production and lead major change programmes to ensure long term growth. To work to and deliver agreed budget targets for costs and head counts. Assist in developing a strong supervisory and management team. Ensure Quality and Health and Safety standards are maintained to the highest level. Ensure that factory machinery is in good working order. Collaborate with Technical/Quality Manager to establish and execute quality control processes. Create a culture of “clean as you go” across all functions of the factory. To be successful in your application, you will be able to demonstrate experience in: Previous management work experience within a Manufacturing/Production setting. Significant experience of managing change effectively. Solid process efficiency and process redesign skills. HACCP and Food Safety Management trained. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
