Product Manager - Fire UK

Main Purpose of the Role:

Responsible for the development, product approvals, and marketing of Fire Products in the UK, while providing support to the MEA region. This role involves close collaboration with the Offerings Manager as SAA to promote a global fire product.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Ensure legislative compliance of fire products and services.
  • Maintain product approval.
  • Oversee product quality and performance.
  • Develop new fire products and solutions.
  • Supervise and develop direct reports when applicable.
  • Maintain industry and market knowledge and awareness.
  • Manage ISO9001, ISO14001, and other National Standards in relation to fire products and service.

Key Tasks:

  • Uphold the highest level of customer service as defined in the Armstrong Customer Service Charter.
  • Address technical queries related to fire products for the UK.
  • Conduct contract reviews for fire sales order entries.
  • Identify parts for generating fire pump spares quotations.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering on fire products.
  • Assist Production and Planning teams with technical issues and performance concerns.
  • Attend and contribute to product development meetings, including ongoing fire product development.
  • Support Sales teams in the UK with product information and administrative production.
  • Represent AIL on industry bodies like LPCB and BAFSA.
  • Manage and maintain FM & LPCB product approvals and future European approvals.
  • Identify and evaluate the training needs of team members, where applicable.
  • Conduct inductions, probation reports, and TDCWs, where applicable.
  • Contribute to achieving the annual departmental operating plan objectives.

Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge/Attributes:

  • HNC in Mechanical and Production Engineering.
  • Professional Diploma in Business Management.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of fire pumps and associated products.
  • Practical and office-based experience in the building services industry.
  • Capable of motivating others.
  • Able to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
