Director & Managing Counsel Head of M&A & Equity Capital Markets Legal EMEA

Our client a leading Global Banking and Financial Services Group is seeking a Head of M&A and ECM Legal based in London to cover the UK and EMEA Capital Markets business

The Role

• Head of Legal for ECM and M&A across the UK and EMEA as well as working with other Global Investment Banking businesses.
• Provision of specialist M&A & ECM legal advice to the business teams across EMEA
• Providing legal and regulatory advice to support the broader strategic and operational goals of the firm in EMEA
• Manage the activities of external counsel to identify the optimal resources for resolving issues and managing the quality and cost of the external services.
• Participate as appropriate in industry discussions and thought leadership on UK and European regulations and guidance

Candidate Profile

• Qualified lawyer with extensive post-qualification experience in M&A / Capital Markets either in -house or from private practice
• In-depth, specialized knowledge and experience of UK and European rules and regulations pertaining to M&A and Capital Markets
• Experience working in large cross- border teams, collaborating on cross border transactions, coordinating on cross jurisdictional requirements
• Other Language skills : French/ German/ Spanish would be beneficial
