Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to lead their Hire Rentals business based in Aberdeen.In this role, you will oversee the full spectrum of rental operations, from equipment dispatch to final invoicing, ensuring a seamless, high-quality experience for their global customers. You will be responsible for managing the Hire Admin team and the Workshop Supervisor, ensuring the effective and efficient operation of rental services. This role requires a proactive, results-driven leader with strong people management skills and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.Your responsibilities:Business Operations: Manage the Hire Rentals business globally, working with regional Heads of Sales to maximize asset utilization. Collaborate with Engineering, Business Development, and Sales teams to ensure asset availability for new product releases and strategic opportunities. Optimize commercial terms for the hire business with the contracts team.Operational Management: Oversee workshop operations and streamline global processes for quick asset turnover. Ensure compliance with export controls and stock management requirements. Maintain quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) standards in line with ISO.Customer and Sales Support: Use CRM to generate quotes, track equipment rentals, and provide usage reports to senior management. Offer live updates on product availability and reminders for returns.People Management: Conduct staff performance reviews, support professional development, and provide ongoing training for team members.The ideal candidate will have the following skills, knowledge & experience:EssentialProficient in independently configuring and operating various underwater surveying equipment, with the expertise to support customers and instill confidence in their selection and setup of appropriate equipment to meet their needs.Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems.Preparing reports on team activities and asset usage, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.Experience working in a continuous improvement environment, with familiarity in implementing change.Extensive experience of working offshore.Demonstrable experience in communicating technical concepts to customers.HND in Engineering or Science subjectDesirableSupervision and day to day management of the activities of a small team.Export Compliance knowledge.Experience in managing office/workshop QHSE.Previous experience in mentoring or training team members.Knowledge of Rental Business operations.Sales experience.Project management skills.Knowledge of commercial contracts/terms and conditions.Degree in Engineering or Science subject.Supervisory or management qualification.
