Deployment - Project Manager - Renewable Energy / EV Charging Projects

Location: London, UK

Work Arrangement: Hybrid - Home-based with travel to London and project sites as required

Overview:

An industry leader in EV charging is looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee the development and delivery of EV charging projects across key account sites. While this role focuses on EV infrastructure, candidates with experience in renewable energy sectors such as solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), or power generation, and with knowledge of DNO/ICP/grid applications and HV systems, will be well-suited.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

• Lead and manage renewable energy projects from initial concept to completion, focusing on EV charging infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Ensure timely, on-budget, and on-scope project delivery.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.

Pre-Construction Development:

• Oversee the design and development phases of projects, ensuring alignment with technical and regulatory requirements.
• Manage processes involving Distribution Network Operators (DNO) and Independent Connection Providers (ICP).
• Secure necessary local planning permissions and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Obtain client approvals and align project specifications with business objectives.

Site Observation and Coordination:

• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with project plans, safety standards, and regulations.
• Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction.
• Ensure that all site activities adhere strictly to health and safety standards.

Client and Stakeholder Management:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring clear communication of project goals and requirements.
• Provide regular updates and reports to clients and stakeholders.
• Promptly address and resolve client concerns and issues.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Project Manager in the renewable energy sector, with relevant experience in EV charging, solar, BESS, or power generation projects.
• Strong understanding of pre-construction development activities, including concept design, DNO/ICP processes, and local planning permissions.
• Excellent project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management.
• Willingness to travel to London and various project sites as needed.
• Relevant certifications or qualifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are highly desirable.
