Chef Atherstone, Warwickshire 37.5 per week 7am-3.30pm or 11am-6.30pm dependant on guests/retreats they have in, no shift is later than 6.30pm/7.00pm finish / predominantly weekends £29,464 per Annum

Would you like to work at a retreat centre and event venue set in the beautiful North Warwickshire countryside?

Our client consists of a network of individuals and groups interacting together to share spiritual insight and understanding in an open and non-judgmental way, in order to promote spiritual growth through the application to life of the Word, and the writings of Emanuel Swedenborg.

You will be joining a small, close-knit team that works well together, predominantly on weekends. As a charity, they have seven staff members who take on various tasks, including cleaning, assisting in the kitchen, and other necessary duties around the centre. They're looking for someone who will fit in well, as all of the current staff members have been there for many years.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • Minimum of 3 years cookery experience is essential
  • Relevant qualification such as NVQ/City & Guild
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Kitchen Equipment Knowledge of International Cuisines
  • Wear uniform as per company guild lines
  • Support and work well within the team

  • Punctual, friendly and polite
  • Neat and tidy in appearance

What will your role as a Cook/Chef look like?

  • Use fresh produce as all menu items are prepared from scratch
  • Prepare meals, vegetables, desserts, salad etc following dietary requirements for gluten-free, vegan and other dietary needs
  • Clean food preparation areas as determined by law and health and safety
  • Prepare foods to the specifications of the guests and with the highest degree of cleanliness
  • Keep stock dates and accessibility when deliveries arrive
  • Serving customers in a polite manner and explaining the menu
  • Follow the cleaning checklist weekly
  • Participate in training and development
  • Is Accountable to the manager and will communicate with management to improve the working environment of the kitchen team
  • General kitchen duties

Please note- you may be required to do overtime at busy periods as requested by the manager

If you are successful, you will undergo a telephone interview, followed by a face to face interview at which stage 2 employment references will be required. If successful a Trial Shift will be undertaken.
