Draughtsperson

Due to my clients continual growth, we have a new position for a Detailed Draughtsperson based in our premises at Blaenavon. The Detailed Draughtsperson is responsible for producing a high standard of general arrangements and layout drawings to standard engineering practice, detailed drawings for manufacture, including producing detailed material profiles for CNC laser cutting Our ideal candidate will have a mechanical engineering qualification or demonstrable experience. They will have a sound knowledge of fabricating, welding, and machining processes along with a good understanding of materials handling equipment, from both technical and manufacturing aspects, (screw conveyors, mixers, belt conveying, metering feeders, discharging aids) Candidates are required to have excellent 2D (essential) & 3D (desirable) draughting skills whilst the ability to interpret P&ID drawings would be advantageous. The duties of the role are: * Interpreting contract documentation and specifications ensuring that technical drawings are produced in accordance with industry regulations and project specifications * Taking part in production/project review meetings to ensure timescales are adhered to * Producing a high standard of 2D general arrangements and layout drawings for manufacture * Producing a high standard of 2D detailed drawings to enable engineering tradespersons to manufacture machined and fabricated parts * Producing sheet/plate pattern development profiles for laser cutting and fabricating * Liaising with sales, project teams and management * Creating parts lists, bills of materials and identifying materials and proprietary items to be purchased for manufacture to ensure timely arrival of required materials * Meeting and improving costs where applicable and feasible using recognised cost analysis methods * Developing new innovative products to supplement the existing product range BENEFITS * Annual company pay review and individual merit award review * Overtime available to workshop hourly paid employees * Basic hours: – Monday to Thursday 07.30 to 16.00 – Friday 07.30 to 12.00 [30 minutes unpaid lunch break each day] * Generous Bonus Scheme * Contributory Pension Scheme * 33 days annual leave (includes 8 days statutory bank holidays) plus our ‘Flexible Holiday Trading Scheme’ * Life Assurance Scheme (after qualifying period) * Income Protection Plan (after qualifying period) * Employee Support and Perks Package * Free car parking * Investment in our employees through learning and development * Flexible and family friendly policies The salary for the role is £40k per annum with loads of additional benefits.
