In this role you will be responsible for the investigation, analysis and reporting of product safety defects and thermal events on vehicles in the UK and Ireland, to support the decision making process for campaigns, recalls, safety defect enquiries and insurance settlements according to the required protocol.

Your new role

  • Training in the investigation of vehicle fires and high voltage repairs is a mandatory requirement and will be provided once in the role.
  • Ensure all Special Cases are fully investigated and accurately reported and in order for a conclusion to be made and the case concluded.
  • Manage on-site investigations into reported Special Cases as required (sometimes with BMW AG engineers and/or external investigators), including vehicle logistics, ensuring all work and findings are accurately documented and shared with the relevant people/departments.
  • Support internal departments with communication and responses that are tailored to the specifics of the allegation or situation, ensuring that the group and brand is correctly represented.
  • Ability to adapt and react to quickly to changing market conditions and demands from, central government, local authorities, media coverage and customers.


  • What you'll need to succeed
  • Higher level education qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
  • BTEC National Certificate, incorporating NVQ Motor Vehicle Studies
  • Hydrid/Electric Vehicle High Voltage qualification.
  • GCSE or equivalent in English, Maths and Science/Physics.
  • Experience working for Aftersales or Engineering.
  • Trained to BMW Master Technician or equivalent level.
  • Excellent communicator (written and verbal).

    CompensationWe offer a competitive hourly wage plus an annual performance-related bonus. You will receive a generous annual leave up to 35 days which is inclusive of bank holidays. There's free on-site parking available and you'll have access to a subsidised restaurant. We offer hybrid working where employees split their time between working remotely (often from home) and working in the office
