Umbi is an early stage maternal health startup, creating a new benchmark for personalised, preventative healthcare at scale, delivering exceptional care at every life stage. As we advance toward this goal, we are committed to closing the women's health gap, beginning with pregnancy as our initial focus.
Healthcare is predominantly reactive. 74% of all global deaths are caused by chronic conditions. Pregnancy is an opportunity to personalise care for individuals, to prevent the chances of developing longer term chronic conditions, whilst also improving maternal health outcomes and experiences. We have an MVP for those with diabetes in pregnancy, and are currently iterating and testing a product focusing on preventative health in the first trimester. We've been selected onto the ZINC Venture Builder (65 people from 1000+).
What we are looking for:- A doer. An outstanding record of execution.
- Complimentary skillset to CEO: CCO or CTO - either strong commercial or technical background (AI/ML/Data Science). Minimum 5 years experience.
- Experience required if you see yourself as our CCO:
- Experience developing and executing commercial strategy in healthcare, driving revenue growth, and/or scaled early-stage ventures.
- Experience required if you see yourself as our CTO (AI/ML or Data Science background):
- AI/ML: Has applied deep expertise of AI/ML in commercial/healthcare context, with proficiency in programming languages like Python and R and experience with big data technologies.
- Data Science: Proven experience of building scalable data platforms, at ease with large data sets and predictive modelling.
- Someone who hates losing/ will keep going until we win (let's decide what winning means together)
- Has the ability to creatively dream big, and then execute
- Passionate about building a profitable business where healthcare isn't reactive, but preventative.
- Can thrive in the uncertainty of an early stage startup
- You're joining a winning team.
- Equity + £2.2k monthly stipend until we go before the Investment Committee in November.
- The opportunity to work with a committed, passionate, capable leader CEO - Domain expert in healthcare and women's health - with an excellent track record across clinical (OBGYN), academic & policy work. Has gone from 0 to 1 in non-profit space twice.
- ZINC VC Network and support- Free executive coaching, access to network of investors, fellows (seasoned experts from the likes of Meta, Google, Monzo etc), business support from a designated venture partner.
- Access to a central London office, with other impact-driven startups.
- Office facilities: Gym, bike storage, changing facilities, roof terrace, networking events and a healthy supply of tea/coffee.
- This is a full-time commitment, the sooner you can start, the better. Please don't apply unless you can commit full time.
- If you have a very similar background to the CEO, without the commercial or technical expertise - unfortunately, this co-founding role isn't for you.
- To build a startup requires a healthy amount of optimism and hard work. If that doesn't sound like you, then it's a no go.
- You must have a right to work in the UK. If you need a sponsored visa, sadly ZINC does not have the capacity for this.
Hybrid company on the Zinc Venture Builder. Meeting 2-3 days/week in person, at London Euston Office.
