IT Assistant Project Manager Manchester - on site 2-3 days p/w £35,982 + excellent pension/benefits About the Role We are seeking a motivated and organised IT Assistant Project Manager to join our team. This role will support the successful delivery of IT projects, working closely with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget. You will play a key role in planning, risk management, and coordination of IT solutions, ensuring they align with organisational strategies. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with project management experience or someone who is keen to develop their skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Support the successful delivery of IT projects, from planning and defining project objectives to completion. Assist with risk management by maintaining risk logs and implementing mitigation strategies. Work closely with third-party vendors to design and deliver IT solutions. Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and address any challenges that arise. Provide project support in managing budgets, timelines, and procurement processes. Contribute to the design and delivery of IT projects, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and best practices. Essential Experience & Qualifications: Relevant project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2) or willingness to work towards one, or equivalent experience. Degree in any discipline or equivalent qualification/experience. Experience supporting the successful delivery of projects, with a focus on planning and achieving objectives. Practical experience in managing risk logs and strategies. Experience working with third-party suppliers to deliver IT solutions. Experience developing and managing key stakeholder relationships. Previous experience in a policing or public sector environment (desirable). Knowledge & Skills: Knowledge and practical application of technical project management principles and methods. Understanding of enterprise architecture and its role in IT projects. Familiarity with budget preparation and monitoring in project settings. Awareness of public sector procurement methods and best practices. Knowledge of current IT theory and practices, particularly within a policing environment (desirable). Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to manage sensitive matters professionally. IT proficiency in MS Office, MS SharePoint, and other office-related software. Team player with a strong emphasis on providing excellent customer service. Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
