Surface Analyst

CK Group are recruiting for a Surface Analyst, to join a global materials manufacturing company, based near Skelmersdale, on a full time, permanent basis. Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 depending on experience The Company: Our client is a global leader in manufacturing glass for architectural, automotive and technical sectors. They are also involved with the decarbonisation of the glassmaking process. Having recently completed a novel hydrogen firing trial, they are incorporating more green electricity into the process, including implementing innovative carbon capture technologies. They now have an exciting opportunity for a Technologist to join them. Location: The Technologist position will be based at the company's site near Skelmersdale, easily commutable by road from Liverpool, Ormskirk, Skelmersdale, Manchester and surrounding areas. Please note a full UK driving licence and car ownership is required due to the company's location. Your main duties will involve: Operation of highly sophisticated analytical equipment (namely ToF SIMS), the analysis of glass, thin films and associated materials. Interpretation of results generated, preparation of formal reports and the use of other forms of communication to explain results. Contribution to multidisciplinary project teams and troubleshooting activities. Your Background: The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience: Chemisty or Materials science degree qualified. Experience in analytical chemistry, ideally using surface analysis techniques.
