Field Service Engineer – Global Packaging Manufacturer - Central EnglandAlexander Steele have partnered with a global leader in sustainable packaging! They design innovative, eco-friendly consumer packaging using renewable and recycled materials, partnering with some of the most recognised brands in the FMCG industry to reduce environmental impact.We are seeking a skilled technician to install, service and maintain industrial machinery at customer facilities. This role is part of a dedicated technical service team that works closely with sales and manufacturing to meet customer needs.Key Responsibilities:Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and control systems on machines installed at customer sitesOversee machine upgrades, overhauls and field tests of new designsCollaborate with sales and manufacturing teams to address customer issues and support new business opportunitiesApply continuous improvement methods to enhance equipment productivityUse IT systems and applications to complete tasks efficientlyProvide training to customer staff on safety, machinery maintenance, and product handlingPrepare timely service reports and update technical documentation as neededConduct audits and assess machine performanceLiaise with other companies on joint projectsQualifications:4+ years of experience in equipment maintenance, repair, and troubleshootingTechnical training in industrial or mechanical engineeringStrong understanding of electrical, mechanical systems and PLCsCandidates must have some experience of troubleshooting Servo systems.Familiarity with continuous improvement methods (e.g., Six Sigma)Willingness to travel and work flexible hours to meet customer needsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalValid driver's licenseDesired Skills:Ability to identify root causes of problems and find effective solutionsStrong customer service mindset, building positive relationships with clientsTeam player with strong collaboration skillsKnowledge of group dynamics and change managementDetail-oriented, self-starter who can work independentlyStrong time management and project planning abilitiesIf you are a proactive problem-solver with a technical background and enjoy working directly with customers, please get in touch for a confidential discussion and I can take you through everything you need to [email protected]
