The Glasshouse is an internationally renowned centre of culture and excellence with a dynamic food and beverage department contributing to a world class customer experience.We are looking for an experience Junior Sous Chef to join our agile team as we develop our food and beverage offer across our varied audiences and commercial events. Working within a supportive team, you will be expected to bring passion and dedication to your role, working closely with the Head Chef.It would be great if you had experience in: Experience working within the hospitality industry, including producing food provision for large scale events. Skills and knowledge of: Ability to work well under pressure in a multi outlet operation.Passionate about food and hospitality- a natural flare for amazing food qualityStrong communication skillsCapability to deliver key business metrics including, food safety managementIt also helps if you have:Hands on experience of designing meusHigh degree of flexibility, can respond to a range of different work situationsProven ability to develop best in class sourcing of ingredientsPassionate about music, culture and the NortheastYou'll be responsible for: A passion for foodCapable of developing innovative ideas to improve the effectiveness of your section Able to work independently asking for guidance when needed Ability to assist with menu design and innovation, responding to our audiences and events A sound understanding of health and safety and food safety regulationsDemonstrable experience in a similar roleWork closely with Food & Beverage Team Managers to ensure smooth service deliveryResponsible for promoting plant-based dishes & sustainable productsWork closely with the Food & Beverage Operations Manager, Head of Audience Experience and FOH team ensuring exceptional food and service standards across all Food & Beverage operations.Ability to work as part of a wider team, working towards a common goalProducing dishes, both hot and cold, to a high standardEnsuring the kitchen is kept clean & tidy in line with cleanliness standardsEnsuring orders are maintained at an appropriate levelCleanliness records are kept up to dateBut don't worry if you're not a perfect match for the job description and criteria, we'd love you to apply anyway.
