Social Value Manager Reigate, Surrey. The Opportunity We are seeking someone with a passion for social value and the ambition and drive to lead the development of our Social Value program. As the Social Value Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering our Social Value commitments as a business globally as well as delivering the Social Value commitments at a key client. Main Responsibilities Leading the development and delivery of Macro’s Social Value plan, tracking progress against our targets. Leading the Social Value committee with representatives across the business. Support our bid team with social value input and plans for public sector bids. Delivery of social value initiatives on the ground in one of our key clients, engaging with key external stakeholders, working with the supply chain on social value delivery and the measuring, monitoring and reporting of in-month and cumulative social value performance. Coordinating social value activities such as school engagement, volunteering activities with local charities and community groups, meet the buyer events, managing work placements and working with HR on apprentices and local recruitment, tracking local spend outcomes and identifying additional opportunities that support local needs. Regular engagement with the supply chain to support them to deliver social value as per the commitments and ensuring data on social value delivery is collected and collated from the supply chain monthly. This will feed into a wider social value report to be presented back to the client. Development and maintenance of a Social Value Handbook which will contain the social value KPIs for the contract, help and guidance about how supply chain can deliver aspects of social value and how to report this back into the ASVM on a monthly basis. Utilisation of reporting tools hard and soft FM on Macro’s in house-social value tool and the TOMS/ Orbis Social Value Framework ready for reporting. Work with project team to ensure spend is hitting our minimum commitment of 50% of our spend is with Client-based businesses and work to achieve out stretch target of 70%. Partner with local providers to ensure provide the target number of apprenticeships through the contract to be delivered through Macro the supply chain (hard and soft services) and support supply chain with delivery. Work with local colleges to provide T-level business work placement opportunities or work experience opportunities. Engage the local supply chain on upcoming procurement opportunities on the project and work with the project team to host Meet the Buyer Events. Work with the project team and sustainability experts to host education sessions for the local community to learn about air quality, the effects it has on individual health and what steps all residents can take to improve the air quality. Ensure health and wellbeing commitments are captured through appointment of a Wellbeing Ambassador and events in place to support workforce health and wellbeing. Work with the project team and sustainability experts to plan and host expert decarbonisation workshops for local SMEs / social enterprises, covering energy efficiency, carbon reduction and sustainability to support them to reduce their carbon emissions. Plan monthly volunteering opportunities and encourage all project team and contract workforce to participate to ensure we can meet our volunteering hour target on the programme. Plan and host regular workshops for people who face barriers to employment (e.g. unemployed, care leavers, NEETs) through career talks, CV workshops and interview preparation, working with the local Job Centre. Develop and deliver a school’s engagement programme to local students in the most deprived areasproviding inspiration into careers related to hard and soft services. Using grants from the Macro Foundation and fundraising initiatives, identify support required by local surrey based charity partners and community groups. Plan and deliver Community Engagement Events to discuss planning and delivery of the project and work with the community to design a community charter to support social value delivery. Provide bespoke career advice for refugees living within the area and signposting them to potential jobs available on the project. Work in partnership with Client’s Choices to ensure jobs on the project are inclusive and accessible and provide opportunities for pre-employment training for people with a disability. Set up of a Supply Chain Working Group to share best practice social value delivery, update on progress as well as issues and concerns with delivering social value. The ideal candidate will have: Experience with responsibilities in social value. Understanding of social value in the public sector (e.g. PPN 06/20 Social Value Model) with a good working knowledge of SV measurement systems (e.g. SV Portal TOMS). A level qualified or equivalent. Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability Practitioner or Corporate Social Value Practitioner or similar (HNC level 4). Member of relevant professional institution. Excellent communication, engagement and relationship building skills. Team work focused with energy, enthusiasm and drive. Positive and proactive approach to problem solving. Data analysis capabilities and familiarity with excel and data collation. Good IT skills, advanced user of MS Office and associated packages.
