Room leader

Kiddy Kare are recruiting an experienced Room Leader for a busy pre-school in Basingstoke. This nursery boasts of its extra curriculum activities such as Daily Meditation & Well-being; Weekly Food and Nutrition Club and also a weekly Dance and Movement session. Package - £28,000 - £30,420 plus occupancy bonus paid monthly (up to £900 per annum). Benefits for Room Leader: * 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays * Birthday off * Opportunity to earn 6 extra days holiday through not being off sick * Paid DBS * Supportive management team Duties of a Room Leader include: * Operate a programme of activities suitable to the age range of children in your room in conjunction with other staff. * Support all staff and engage in a good staff team. * The preparation and completion of activities to suit the child's stage of development. * Ensure the room is set out ready for the children each morning and toys and equipment is stored correctly * Organise a rota for wall displays ensuring that each display board is changed and updated at least 6 weekly * To organise creative activities ensuring that all children are taking things that they have made home * Manage staff effectively, ensuring ratios are maintained throughout the setting * Work with students allocated to your room and their supervisor, passing on your knowledge to them, practically and theoretically The ideal Room Leader candidate will have: * Previous EYFS experience * Be a good team leader * Excellent communication skills, with children, colleagues, advisors and parents/carers * Completion of a recognised Level 3 Childcare qualification * Strong knowledge of Ofsted Requirements & safeguarding
