Customs & Airfreight Manager

Freightserve recruitment are looking for a Customs & Airfreight Manager for a growing busy Freight Forwarder based in the Heathrow area. Role Working with the Operations Manager, Senior Logistics Manager and wider Network Team, this role will involve overseeing our customs and airfreight processes, managing air-freight space, and ensuring continued high level of service while always driving down costs. Responsibilities:- * Set up and manage our ETSF, AEO and MOU * Manage end to end import and export processes and customs entries * Liaise with our airfreight partners for booking space * Manage team of customs clerks to ensure smooth running of the customs processes * Ensure compliance with all relevant import and export regulations * Act as the main contact point for customs related matters for the business * Design processes and build SOPs, circulate to the business and ensure they are being followed * Obtain required air-freight space, monitoring volumes to ensure no delays or waste of space * Liaise with airfreight providers to drive down cost and improve service * Manage carriers and handling agents to minimize issues and combat exceptions * Report to the business on various topics, such as AKE fill rate and airfreight costs * Work with analysts within the team to create relevant and impactful reporting Skills * Expert knowledge of imports, exports, and trans-shipments * Familiar with multiple customs systems * Strong commercial focus and ability to negotiate * Experience creating and discharging transit docs (T1 etc.) * Strong knowledge of customs processes and systems * Proven track record of building and leading a team * Experience with bonded goods and bonded clearance Monday - Friday (Apply online only) As an agency we are fast becoming the number one Freight recruitment specialist.
