Operational Excellence (OpEx) Manager c.£65,000 + Bonus Kent Job Reference: GG/00377 Overview This is an opportunity to join a dynamic food manufacturer with huge ambition. They have a brand-new purpose-built facility in Kent where they manufacture a chilled ready-to-eat product for the major retailers and large foodservice clients. In this brand-new role, you will define and delver the businesses change agenda. The Role * Identify opportunities for process optimisation, cost reduction, and operational efficiency enhancement within the current value chain. * Collaborate with senior management to develop and define the company’s technology, process and manufacturing strategy. * Leading others to root cause complex business issues and define appropriate ways forward. * Management of long-term strategic initiatives from concept stages to implementation. * Evaluate, select, and oversee the implementation of solutions that support Operational Excellence (OpEx) objectives, such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and factory automation. * Lead change management efforts by effectively communicating Operational Excellence (OpEx) goals and engaging stakeholders at all levels. * Ensuring project and programme governance is adequate for all programmed projects. * Managing business change projects from concept to handover. * Leading others to define project scopes and user requirements, * Writing/reviewing business cases and financial models that are relied upon at board level. * Provide oversight and control over budgets and reporting on project performance. * Holding teams to project plans and reporting on project performance. * Defining project risk management strategies and processes for all programmed projects. * Working cross-functionally to ensure alignment and collaboration in executing Operational Excellence (OpEx) projects. * Taking personal accountability to deliver results that and value to the business. * Development of the current project and programme management processes and documentation. * Facilitating cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements, leveraging technology and innovative solutions to enhance operational effectiveness. * Leading and motivating a team and developing capability in your direct reports. * Monitor and report on the progress of Operational Excellence (OpEx) initiatives, including the achievement of key milestones and the realisation of intended business benefits. * Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess the outcomes of Operational Excellence (OpEx) projects, identify lessons learned and integrate findings into future initiatives for continuous improvement. The Candidate * Proven experience in leading Operational Excellence (OpEx) within the food manufacturing industry or a similar sector. * Strong project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and oversee complex Operational Excellence (OpEx) projects from inception to completion. * Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making and performance optimization. * Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all organisational levels. * Proficiency in technology integration and change management methodologies. * Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards in food manufacturing and quality management.
