Design Engineer

Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Design Engineer looking to make a significant impact in the automotive industry?

We are seeking a Design Engineer to join a thriving Design & Development Department which is offering a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the development of modern passenger car powertrain systems.

Your responsibilities as a Design Engineer:

• Designing and developing powertrain components.
• Navigating the automotive development process from concept to production.
• Applying knowledge of design for manufacture, including material selection, machining techniques, and tolerance design.
• Interpreting CAE and CFD analysis data to inform component design decisions.
• Developing FMEA and design verification test plans.
• Analysing test data to refine design approaches.
• Prioritising tasks to meet project deadlines and collaborating effectively within a team.

Your current experience which will help you as a Design Engineer:

• A degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics Engineering, or similar.
• A solid understanding of vehicle/powertrain systems and components such as ICE, e-machines, hybrid systems, and battery systems.
• Proficiency in GD&T, FMEA, DVP&R, and 8D Techniques.
• Exceptional communication and teamwork skills, with a capability to lead as needed.
• A valid driving license and willingness to travel as required for the role.
• A motivated, flexible, and committed attitude towards achieving excellence in work.

What will set you apart as a Design Engineer:

• Experience in battery, fuel cell, or ICE design and development.
• Advanced qualifications (Masters or PhD) in a relevant field.
• Membership in a professional institute (e.g., IET, IMechE).
• Experience with CAD tools such as Catia, NX, or equivalent.
