Anya’s Grotto Host Role Description We are looking for confident and charismatic people to welcome guests to our Christmas grotto at our Village Hall concept store in the heart of Chelsea. You will be key in creating magical memories for children and parents alike at our sell-out immersive experience, Anya’s Grotto. It will include but is not limited to the following: Dressing in costume supplied by Anya Hindmarch. Please note your outfit will be a cosy ensemble of Nordic inspired and vintage knits with bespoke, hand finished Anya Hindmarch accessories – not a pair of elf ears in sight! Meeting and greeting children and their parents and welcoming them to Anya’s Grotto. Grotto check in: Scan QR codes to check the booking and slot time are correct. Introduce the Anya’s Grotto narrative in character and take the children and their parents to a wonderland of candy cane forests and crunchy snow, twinkling baubles and icicle caves, ending with a festive story by the fire, all in the heart of Chelsea at Anya's Village. Keeping in character at all times, help the children discover hidden tasks and experiences in Santa’s forest. Lead the children and parents out of the grotto experience and back onto the shop floor. Ensure health and safety rules are adhered to at all times. Re-set any props and keep the space clean and tidy. Dates & Times 14 November to 24 December inclusive. Occasional evenings will be scheduled where necessary with prior notice. Essential Skills/ Experience Proven professional childcare experience. Able to talk to children and parents in a fun and warm way. Love of storytelling and ability to engage children in simple, experiential narratives. Confident speaker and assertive. Able to learn and remember simple scripts. Able to keep calm and in character under pressure. Quick witted and able to improvise! Desirable Skills / Experience Professional or amateur acting experience. Immersive or experiential event experience.
