Deputy Director of Sport & Enrichment - International School in Cairo, Egypt (Day Boarding Position) The Role Accountability The Deputy Director of Sport & Enrichment will be responsible for ensuring the quality and engagement of the school's sports and enrichment programs in a day boarding environment. On a day-to-day basis, they will report to the Headmistress. As the school grows, line management responsibilities will also involve collaboration with other senior leadership team members. This role is supported by various business units responsible for marketing, business development, human resources, IT, finance, safety, operational services, and estates. The School reserves the right to adapt the needs of the role as circumstances demand or opportunities arise. Key Areas of Responsibility The Deputy Director of Sport & Enrichment aims to foster a culture of excellence in physical education and enrichment activities within the school community, actively enhancing the overall student experience. Strategic Leadership - Ensure that programs stimulate and engage pupils, enhancing their overall development and enthusiasm for learning. Operational Leadership - Provide leadership for the sports and enrichment department, overseeing the development of long- and medium-term program planning. - Support teachers and coaches in creating effective lesson plans and delivery methods that bring out the best in students and staff. Responsibilities - Optimize the use of regular performance reporting systems to provide objective, standardized feedback on student engagement and performance. - Implement strategies to support students’ participation in sports and enrichment, promptly addressing any challenges. - Cultivate a department culture that encourages students to be challenged and stretched in their activities, enabling their success. - Analyze student performance data to identify potential and areas for development. Qualifications - A good honors degree from a reputable university. - Significant teaching or coaching experience, ideally within an educational setting, with a teaching qualification and QTS. - Further post-graduate study would be desirable. Experience - Relevant teaching or coaching qualification and experience. - Experience in line management or leadership roles. - Ability to handle, analyze, and communicate data effectively. - Strong IT literacy.
