Protecnium (protecnium.com/en) is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services for construction. We are currently seeking an MEP Project Manager for the Heathrow Airport Project in London, UK.


Estimated duration: 36-48 months, with the possibility of extension depending on the progress of the project. Generally, at the end of a project, efforts are made to move the employee to other projects for continuity.


Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM) with a 30-minute break.


About the Role

The MEP Project Manager will be responsible for delivering a safe, efficient, and high-quality project at Heathrow Airport. This role requires managing interfaces with clients, designers, and third parties, ensuring successful project delivery within schedule and budget. The Project Manager will oversee all assigned areas of the project, promote safety, and maintain high standards in health, safety, and environmental awareness.


Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-Construction Support: Provide pre-construction support during project development, managing interfaces with clients, designers, and third parties.
  • Project Management: Manage and oversee assigned project areas to ensure successful outcomes. Coordinate inputs and outputs with H&S, Quality, Commercial, Planning, Environmental, and other departments. Promote quality through thorough planning and "right-first-time" delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, supervise, and mentor the project team, ensuring the appointment of staff with appropriate training and experience. Drive the team to achieve performance and development goals.
  • Cost Management: Establish and monitor a schedule-based cost management system. Assist the Area Lead with Month-End Cost reports.
  • Project Scheduling: Prepare, manage, monitor, and update project schedules. Ensure timely preparation of records for payment.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including client representatives, suppliers, and subcontractors. Use effective communication methods such as weekly progress meetings.
  • Risk and Opportunity Management: Keep management informed of potential risks, opportunities, and future work possibilities.


Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) engineering and 5+ years in project management.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale, complex projects for main contractors.
  • Experience in highly regulated environments (airports or critical infrastructure).
  • Stakeholder management and strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Professional certification (e.g., APM, PMI) is a plus.
  • Fluent English (B2/C1).
