Maintenance Engineer

BJ61 - Maintenance Engineer Location: Manchester Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 Per Annum Working Hours: Monday - Friday Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician on behalf of our client based in Manchester. This role is pivotal in ensuring minimal disruption to the laundry’s function and keeping operations running. Duties and Responsibilities: Is responsible for carrying out and planning (in co-operation with his/her supervisor) of corrective maintenance, failure monitoring and reporting of any disturbances in machines or processes. Is responsible for maintaining proper condition of the buildings, machines, equipment and outdoor areas of the laundry. Is responsible for the order and cleanliness of the premises and areas dedicated to maintenance work Is responsible for storage of spare parts and maintenance tools as well as for the order and cleanliness of their storage. Is responsible for authorisation of hot work permits. Is responsible for compiling, training and monitoring of operational inspection instructions of machines. Skills and Qualifications: Have a formal mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent standard of professional qualification. Engineer fitter education/experience (desirable/advantage). Automation fitter education/experience (desirable/advantage). Over 3 years work experience in an equivalent position. Proficient in basic IT programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and Internet). Hot work card or equivalent Full UK Driving Licence Flexible work ethic as there may be requirements to provide cover at other site Attentive and active in monitoring production activities.
