Director of Construction

Company Overview:Our client, a renowned Tier 1 main contractor, is seeking an experienced Construction Director to lead and deliver a flagship £180M project in Central London. This role offers a unique opportunity to oversee a prestigious, large-scale development with a company that is synonymous with quality, innovation, and excellence in construction.Key Responsibilities:Take full responsibility for the delivery of a £180M construction project, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.Lead, mentor, and manage a team of project managers, site managers, and other key personnel to ensure operational excellence.Establish and maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including clients, consultants, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies.Develop and implement robust construction strategies and plans, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to mitigate any issues that may arise.Lead contract negotiations, cost management, and value engineering efforts to optimise project outcomes.Oversee the procurement process, ensuring the selection of high-quality suppliers and subcontractors.Drive the project’s financial performance, ensuring profitability and effective resource allocation.Skills and Experience Required:Extensive experience in a senior leadership role within the construction industry, ideally with a Tier 1 main contractor.Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects, ideally over £100M in value, in urban environments.Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to inspire and manage large teams.Excellent commercial acumen and experience in contract management, cost control, and value engineering.Thorough knowledge of construction methods, health and safety regulations, and building codes.Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.Benefits:Six-figure salary commensurate with experience.Opportunity to work on a high-profile £180M project in Central London.Comprehensive benefits package, including company bonus, pension scheme, and private healthcare.Career progression opportunities within a leading Tier 1 contractor.Access to ongoing professional development and training.
