PCV DriverDepartment: PCV (Bus) DriverEmployment Type: Zero HoursLocation: ErithCompensation: GBP 15.85 / hourDescriptionProvide a professional rail replacement driving service that supports our clients and service users, Operate the passenger lift & have strong customer service & great communication skills with the aim to excel our customers experience. Have an understanding of disability issues and deliver the service with a patient and level-headed attitude. Good Knowledge of GB Domestic, EU Drivers Hours & Emergency Legislation. To have a good Knowledge of London and the surrounding Counties. The rail replacement role operates 7 days a week, including a mix of early, middle and overnight shifts with working weeks having a mix of mid-week and weekend shifts.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate the vehicle in a safe manner, adhering to local road restrictions and speed limits. Any fines or tickets received must be reported to the office as soon as possible. Ensure mandatory vehicle checks are undertaken every time the vehicle is used to a standard acceptable on the road. Any defects to be reported to the officeEnsure that all passengers and wheelchair users are secured correctly in the appropriate location using the necessary safety equipment. Ensure that the vehicle in use has adequate fuel for the journey, refuelling at the end of each shiftEnsure that the vehicle is cleaned inside and out upon return to base each day. Ensuring Seatbelts are clipped in at the end of trip/dutyTo be a leading example to all staff ensuring the highest standards are achieved and maintained.To be a proactive & Professional member of the Commercial Department team, undertaking tasks to assist the operation.Remove and replace seating as required.Ensure that the vehicle is parked in the depot correctly, in pre allocated bays where possible.To assist with Commercial Department Operations across multiple depots as required. To provide Standby driver coverage, as required. Operate the passenger lift and other equipment used to assist passengers whilst entering and exiting the vehicle safely. Communicate with passengers and clients in a patient, informative manner.Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseTo hold a valid category D PCV driving licence.Hold a CPC qualification card and keep mandatory training up to date .Ensure that training in all the role specific courses are kept in date and refreshed as and when needed. Maintain good working relationships with all members of staff and our clients.Adherence to all company policies and procedures, ensuring that you remain familiar with any changes made.Ensure that any company uniform provided is worn at all times, including high visibility jackets/ vests and ID badges. You must ensure that this is kept in a clean, presentable condition.
