Job Title: Grounds Care and Turf Care Machinery Mechanic  

Location: Middlewich, Cheshire  

Salary: £28,000 - £38,000 per annum  

Hours: Full-time. Core hours 7:30 am – 4:00 pm. Flexible working and overtime available.


Job Overview:  

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Grounds Care and Turf Care Machinery Mechanic to maintain, repair, and service various types of groundcare and turf machinery. The role involves ensuring equipment remains safe and operational for use on golf courses, sports fields, and for landscape contracting companies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Experience with grounds care machinery is preferred but not essential, as we are open to mechanics from other mechanical backgrounds. The ability to work both remotely on-site and in the workshop is required. We offer ongoing training and development within a small, friendly team based in a relaxed rural setting.


Key Responsibilities:

- Inspect, diagnose, and repair groundcare machinery, including commercial lawnmowers, greens mowers, fairway mowers, tractors, hedge trimmers, strimmers, and other related tools.

- Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance to extend machinery lifespan.

- Carry out cylinder grinding to a high standard.

- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.

- Ensure all machinery complies with safety standards and operational guidelines.

- Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and parts used.

- Provide advice and support to operators on the proper use and maintenance of machinery.

- Respond to service breakdowns and perform repairs on all grounds care machinery.


Requirements:

- Previous experience as a mechanic, preferably with groundcare or turf machinery.

- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematic diagrams.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Relevant mechanical qualifications or certifications (desirable but not essential).

- Full UK driving licence.
