Transport Planner

Transport Planner - Southampton

Our client are looking for a Transport Planner to join their operation in Southampton, UK

As Transport Planner, you will work closely with the traffic team & other departments to meet daily transport requirements across the UK.

Salary: DOE

Key tasks include:

• Data Input & updating of the TOPS Transport system
• Customer service correspondence on email & telephone
• Assist with routing the company fleet & sub-contractors as effectively as possible to suit workload
• Pricing & routing of transport jobs in the most cost effective way to suit budget
• Liaise with Drivers, Sub-Contractors and Customers to check everything is in place & to ensure job completion and satisfaction
• Keeping customers informed of job status updates & Late runners in a timely fashion
• Booking VBS slots for vehicles onto ports to collect container

Requirements:

• Experience in working as a Transport planner for a UK based transport or Freight Forwarding company
• Experience in using TOPS
• Experience in container work
• Right to work in the UK
• Good UK geographical knowledge would be very beneficial
