We are looking for a committed and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our dynamic team at a special school with multiple sites across Newham.About UsOur school provides a supportive, nurturing, and inclusive environment for pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism (verbal and non-verbal), physical disabilities, behavioural challenges, and other complex learning difficulties. We are dedicated to offering a high standard of care and education tailored to each individual, empowering them to reach their full potential.Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with complex needs, including autism and physical disabilities. Assist students with both verbal and non-verbal communication needs. Support students with personal care as required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times. Help manage behavioural challenges in a calm and proactive manner, in line with the school's policies. Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure each child receives the appropriate care and education. Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all students.Requirements Previous experience working with children or young adults with complex needs, including autism, physical disabilities, and behavioural challenges. A strong understanding of supporting students with both verbal and non-verbal communication. Willingness to carry out personal care duties, ensuring a dignified approach. A patient, empathetic, and flexible attitude. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with other professionals, staff, and parents.
