Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Electrical Design Engineer* Harwell, Oxford (Hybrid) Permanent £60k-£70k DOE *This job might also suit a Power Electronics Engineer. Were looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to wants to work in a small, growing team to play a big role in our fast growing start-up. Youll work alongside the founders at our Harwell lab space to better develop and model the fundamental workings of our technology. This will involve testing and validation, writing scientific papers and assisting in patent applications as well as working with our customers to refine the technology specific to their industry. Responsibilities: Understand and model the fundamental working of a first-of-a-kind technology. Confidently advise on further research paths for the technology. Develop any knowledge gaps and proactively identify solutions. Work with scientists and engineers to test and validate. Assist in the writing of patents and documentation. Qualifications & skills Essential Degree level qualification in electrical engineering or relevant field. Experience working in a research and/or product development role. Excellent problem-solving skills. Excellent understanding of electrical circuit theory and power electronics. Experience of working with power sources including pulses and power electronics. Circuit design and testing including the use of Pspice or similar. Experience in power management and load regulation. Hands-on experimental experience. Desirable 5 years of relevant experience Postgraduate qualification Chartered Status Experience Designing, or working with, power electronics circuits. MATLAB / Simulink, including Simscape Electrical. Designing, building and testing electronic assemblies. Embedded software for microcontrollers or similar devices. Delivering technical presentations to a wide range of stakeholders. Designing commercial products. What we offer Up to £70k annual salary for full-time.
