About the Role: As a Assistant General Counsel, Privacy & Regulatory within the S&P Global Market Intelligence legal team, you will play a crucial role in providing dedicated support to the team. You’ll be the first line of escalation, assisting with drafting, implementing privacy strategies, negotiating agreements, and handling data subject access requests. The Legal Team provides day-to-day legal support for the various shared services within S&P Global as well as commercial legal support for S&P Global’s Market Intelligence (financial services) group. We are a highly trusted and dynamic team that works in close partnership with the business to help drive maximum results. This includes drafting and implementing privacy strategies, negotiating Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), and other privacy-related documentation with clients. Incident Response: You’ll assist with incident reports and reviews, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Legal Advisory: Your in-depth knowledge of privacy and information security laws and regulations will guide legal decisions. You’ll advise the legal team and business on various related matters, including commercial licensing transactions. Legal Expertise: Develop expertise in multiple areas of law to counsel internal clients on business and legal risks throughout the customer relationship. Contract Negotiation: Independently negotiate, draft, and review various commercial agreements, including data licenses, software licenses, and strategic alliance agreements. Ensure compliance with privacy and information technology best practices. Provide legal and business solutions to product, sales, and strategic alliances teams, with a focus on EMEA and Americas. Risk Mitigation: Identify, evaluate, and mitigate business and legal risks related to new products and initiatives. Collaboration: Work closely with the Market Intelligence Legal Team, offering strategic and legal insights across different business areas. Hybrid Work Model: You’ll be asked to work from the office two days a week. 10+ years’ experience as a practicing lawyer/legal counsel, with a background in commercial contracts from a law firm or in-house legal environment. ~ Experience in both privacy and regulatory compliance in technology or financial company - must. ~ Proficiency in negotiating and drafting commercial technology, data, and software licensing contracts. ~ Familiarity with compliance, intellectual property, and data privacy. ~
