Managing DirectorDue to the exceptional growth of the business, we are now looking for a Managing Director to join us to run the business on a day to day basis. We have a great team here and are looking for someone who is passionate about our industry and what we do to carry on the strategic development.At a high level, key responsibilities will include setting and delivering strategic vision, taking ownership of financial management and performance, managing business operations and delivering an exceptional people strategy. View our video or visit our websitewww.orb-international.comORB INTERNATIONALRole and ResponsibilitiesStrategy and VisionTo design and implement both short term and long term strategic plans that develop the business offering and ensure that ORB is responding to client needs and changes within the industryTo lead the management team to develop and deliver overall business objectives and targets and to execute projectsTo work in close partnership with the USA office to ensure consistency and clear communication across client offeringsBe aware of changes in technology and utilise those to enhance the business offeringRun the business on a day to day basisFinancial Management, Budgeting and PerformanceManage the business to ensure 10% growth year on yearDelegate individual team budgets and revenue generation responsibility to the senior management team, and evaluate their performance against targets and objectivesSupport management team in costing and budgeting, where necessary, ensuring that budgets are implemented consistently across the companyWork with the Finance Director to develop efficient and transparent financial systems and processesBusiness Operations And CommunicationImplement company-wide policies and standards that drive consistency, fairness and high performanceReport to the CEO on a regular basis the progress on strategic and operational objectivesHold regular company-wide events to communicate strategy, vision and key deliverablesWork closely with management working groups to ensure progress across Finance, Business Development, Infrastructure, People and HR/ Travel.People ManagementTo support, guide and mentor the senior management team in both the day-to-day management of their teams and their personal career objectivesCreate and maintain a cohesive team environment at all levels in the businessTo create and deliver clear communication across all levels of the businessCreate and maintain a transparent culture of learning, development, performance management and internal progressionPERSON SPECIFICATIONThe following are essential skills for successful performance in the role:Minimum of 15 years’ relevant experience in the research industryProven business and commercial acumen to deliver business growth balanced with profitabilityProven experience in leading a large team of people (50 people+)Strong communication skillsThe ability to build trust and credibility quickly and with positive intentExperience of delivering results against agreed strategy and visionThe ability to make effective decisions in a timely mannerExperience in strategic communications, working with/within government, international organisations and defence sector is strongly desirablePosition Type:Full time, permanent - 37.5 hours a weekLocation:Central LondonTravel Required:Regular International travel to meet clients will be requiredSalary:£120,000 - £150,000 per annumReports to:CEO
